Harbhajan Singh announces retirement from all forms of cricket, Turbanator says goodbye

New Delhi: Harbhajan Singh aka Turbanator on Friday officially announced that he is retiring from every form of cricket. Announcing this on Twitter, the off-spinner wrote: “All good things come to an end and today as I say goodbye to the game that has given me everything in life.”

The 41-year-old from Punjab took 417 wickets in 103 Tests, 269 wickets in 236 ODIs and 25 wickets in 28 T20Is in his illustrious career.

Unveiling a career spanning 23 years, Bhajji thanked all those who were a part of this journey. Bhajji announced his retirement through a YouTube video.

Harbhajan Singh said in a video, “I have always given my 100% to any team, be it Indian team, Punjab team or other teams like Mumbai Indians, CSK, KKR.” Bhajji thanked his family for his success in cricket. An emotional Harbhajan Singh said that his sisters are pillars of his success.

Harbhajan also said that he too wants to retire wearing the Indian jersey.

“I was the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in 2004. I remember it very much,” he said. Harbhajan Singh also said that the 2007 and 2011 World Cup victories hold a very high place in his heart.

The off-spinner is a two-time World Cup trophy winner with the Indian team and is known for his heroics of the Eden Gardens Test, with the capable Indian team beating the mighty Aussies after being asked to follow-on.
