The video showing the holy banks of Haridwar littered with piles of garbage has gone viral, leaving the internet angry. “Video of Har ki Pauri in Haridwar. The government cannot do everything, but are people not aware that they can pick up the plastic they brought with them and throw it in the dustbin,” read the note attached to it.

The video has already attracted about 20,000 views and has left the netizens angered.

“People do not have faith in the Ganga river, they all come here just to show off. The Ganga river needs to be clean for bathing but they do not want to take care of the cleanliness of the ghats. The hypocrites should be reprimanded,” wrote a user while another one said, “India is a great country but Indians are the worst when it comes to cleanliness and civic sense.”

“Mostly come here for trip and not for pilgrimage,” a comment read.

A person added, “Bahut hi bewakof log ha bhaiya apne yaha. [They are just dumb.]”

Another added that strict action must be taken against these people.

A user question the “mindset” of such people.
