Boss Day or National Boss Day is celebrated on 16 October to promote the bond between bosses and employees. The day was first observed in 1958 by Patricia Bez Haroski. He served as the secretary of a State Farm Insurance firm in Deerfield, Illinois, US. It chose October 16 to celebrate National Boss Day and registered it with the United States Chamber of Commerce. Haroski chose October 16 because it was the birthday of his father, who was also his owner.
