2. Abhimaan
   It is again a musical film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Essaying on the role of a couple facing a troubled marriage, both Amitabh and Jaya were brilliant. It is believed that the film was based on the marriage of sitar maestro Ravi Shankar-Annapurna Devi.
3. Zanjeer
   It was an action film which was a blockbuster hit. Amitabh played the role of Inspector Vijay, and Jaya played Mala. It was a classic film which started a whole new trend in Hindi cinema.
4. Flute Birju
   The pair shared the screen together for the first time in this romantic film directed by Prakash Varma. Jaya was Bansi, a prostitute who married Birju, played by Amitabh.
5. cinder
   This marked their third consecutive film with each other. One of the iconic hits, which saw Amitabh-Jaya communicating in a restrained manner, hiding emotions, where the silence spoke through their skilful acting.
6. Silsila
   Directed by Yash Chopra, this romantic drama is another classic starring Amitabh, Jaya; Shashi Kapoor, Rekha with Sanjeev Kapoor.
7. stealth stealth
   Both starred in the remake of the Bengali comedy film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. It was an ensemble cast with remarkable performances.
8. doll
   Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, the film was a huge ‘city hit’ and marked Jaya’s debut as an adult. She was phenomenal in the role of a schoolgirl. It starred Dharmendra, Utpal Dutt and made guest appearances by Amitabh Bachchan.
