Lord Hanuman was born to Vanar Raj Kesari and mother Anjani. The sole purpose of the birth of Lord Hanuman, considered to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva, was to serve Lord Shri Ram. An ardent devotee of Lord Rama, Lord Hanuman is known by many other names – Bajrangbali, Sundar, Maruti Nandan, Pawan Putra, Anjani Nandan and Sankat Mochan. He is called Sankat Mochan because he embodies the qualities – powerful, courageous, remover of obstacles and for whom nothing is impossible. His devotees worship him and he blesses them with happiness and success. Lord Hanuman is indeed synonymous with loyalty and devotion, as his relationship with Lord Rama shows.
