Han Ji-min has been facing criticism for dating Choi Jung-hoon and now, her agency, BH Entertainment, has decided to take legal action.

Actress Han Ji-min recently made headlines after revealing her relationship with Choi Jung-hoon, a member of the boy band Jannabi. The couple, who has been dating since August, sparked controversy as Choi Jung-hoon is 10 years younger than Han Ji-min. More than the singer, Han Ji-min has faced harsh online trolling since the news was made public. In response, her agency, BH Entertainment, has decided to take legal action. They issued a statement saying they have filed a lawsuit against those spreading “malicious slander, personal attacks and the spreading of false information.” The agency has also submitted evidence to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul to protect the actress from ongoing online abuse.
The agency wrote, “We have confirmed that Han Ji-min has been continuously subjected to malicious slander, personal attacks and the spreading of false information. After hiring a law firm, we have submitted a formal complaint to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul. Furthermore, we will continue to take strong legal action against defamation and insults directed at Han Ji-min, which are being publicly carried out on various platforms such as SNS, online communities, cafes, and portal sites.”
“We sternly warn those who are spreading malicious slander, groundless speculation, and false information about our actor Han Ji-min, as well as other actors under BH Entertainment. Any act of defamation or insult that harms the reputation and dignity of our actors online is a clear criminal offense, and we would like to make it clear that there will be no settlement or leniency. The malicious comments and materials provided by our fans are greatly aiding in the preparation and response to the legal action,” Han Ji-min agency, BH Entertainment added.
The agency ended their statement by urging people to report any cybercrime they come across through a special email address. They also thanked the fans who have supported Han Ji-min and assured them that they will continue working hard to deliver even better performances in the future.
Han Ji-min and Choi Jung-hoon’s friendship blossomed after the actress appeared as a guest on the Jannabi member’s show, The Seasons, last year. A year later, their agencies officially confirmed that they were in a relationship.
On the work front, Han Ji-min, who has appeared in prominent K-dramas such as Light in Your Eyes, Our Blues, One Spring Night and Behind Your Touch, is set to appear, In the Middle of Nowhere, scheduled to be released in 2025.
