Gyanvapi case: Ajay Mishra removed as court commissioner, survey team given 2 days to submit report

The Varanasi court has removed Ajay Mishra as one of the three commissioners it had appointed to conduct the Gyanvapi mosque survey and asked the survey team to submit its report in days.

Ajay Mishra has been removed over reports that his assistant allegedly leaked information about the survey to the media.

Now, Vishal Singh and Ajay Pratap will continue as court commissioner and deputy court commissioner respectively.

A Varanasi court last month ordered a video survey of the mosque premises. The order was challenged but the court ordered the ASI to continue the survey after it hit a roadblock with local Muslims opposing entry of the survey team to the premises. The court asked the survey team to submit the report by May 17.
