Gurugram Woman Caught on Camera Beating Security Guard Over ‘Heater’

A police complaint was registered after a video surfaced on social media of an elderly woman allegedly beating up a female security guard of her housing society, police said on Thursday. The video purportedly shows the woman thrashing and abusing the guard with a stick. The row reportedly broke out when she objected to security guards using heaters and standing around her to warm themselves.

The argument turned violent when he tried to take a picture of the heater and was prevented from doing so by the guards.

The incident took place at 3.30 pm on Wednesday near the main gate of Tulip Violet Society, Sector 69.

The woman, who is said to be in her 60s, had approached the guard room in her car.

He allegedly took out a stick from his car to beat up the security guard, Soni Devi, and also threatened to fire other employees who came to his support.

Late in the evening, Irshad Ali, manager of the maintenance company employed by the society, took Soni Devi to the Badshahpur police station and lodged a complaint against the resident woman.

Following the complaint, the police got the security guard medically examined.

They haven’t filed an FIR yet.

Inspector Madan Singh, SHO of Badshahpur police station told PTI that the investigation is underway and they are still verifying the facts.

According to sources, the accused woman is living alone in her flat and has some mental disorder.
