Gurugram administration canceled permission for 8 namaz places

The Gurugram administration on Tuesday withdrew permission to offer Namaz at eight out of 37 designated places. According to an official statement from the district administration, the permission was revoked following objections from the local people and RWAs.

These eight sites include Bengali Basti in Sector 49, V Block of DLF Phase-3, Surat Nagar Phase-1, outskirts of Kherki Majra village, outskirts of Daulatabad village near Dwarka Expressway, near Ramgarh village in Sector 68, DLF Near Square Tower and from Rampur Village to Nakhrola Road.

It said, ‘The consent of the administration is necessary for Namaz in any public and open place.

It further states that prayers can be offered at any mosque, Idgah or any private or designated place.

The administration said, ‘If local people have objections in other places also, then they will not be allowed to offer Namaz there too.

The district administration also informed that a committee has been constituted by Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg, comprising a sub-divisional magistrate, an assistant commissioner of police and members of religious organizations and civil society groups, to discuss the issue and offer Will identify places to do. namaz in the future

This committee will discuss with the communities to resolve the issue and ensure that the local residents do not face any problem in offering Namaz in that area. The committee will also ensure that Namaz is not offered on any road, square or public place. Apart from this, the consent of the local people has to be taken while deciding the place to offer Namaz.

The administration has also called upon religious communities to maintain law and order. In this regard, strict security arrangements have been made by the Gurugram Police and the police is monitoring the situation. Earlier on several occasions, residents of Gurugram complained and protested against Friday prayers at the public grounds.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Aman Yadav had assured to resolve the matter.

“Locals staged a protest for the fourth consecutive week against offering Friday prayers at a ground in Sector-47 of Gurugram. Efforts are on to find a solution, including finding an alternative place for prayers,” he said.

“Earlier also two rounds have been held under the chairmanship of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Badshahpur. We are trying to find a solution and resolve the matter amicably,” he said.

The residents of Sector-47 of Gurugram had claimed that land was provided for offering prayers for a day.

The ACP had said, “The residents have shown us the list which was issued three years ago. We have to verify the list from our side also. Had the land been given to the Muslim community for a day, the administration would have taken necessary steps.
