Gurthunda Seethakalam Not a Remake of Love Mocktail But…: Director Nagashekar

Fans are eagerly waiting for Satyadev and Tamannaah Bhatia-starrer Gurthunda Seethakalam to hit the theatres. The Telugu romantic drama is touted to be a remake of Darling Krishna’s directorial debut Kannada film Love Mocktail. However, in a recent conversation with News18 Kannada, director Nagasekhar, who directed Gurthunda Seethakalam, revealed that the film is not a remake.

In an interaction with a media house, Nagasekhar cleared the air and said that the film is not a remake of the 2020 Kannada film Love Mocktail, but it can be said that it was inspired by the film. The film is all set to hit the theaters on 9 December.

Talking about Love Mocktail, the film featured darling Krishna and his now wife Milan Nagraj. The film was produced by the couple. The romantic film revolves around the story of a man’s search for love. Life takes him on a rollercoaster ride and he goes through various experiences in phases while searching for true love. It received rave reviews from the audience and critics in the year of its release itself.

Coming back to Gurthunda Seethakalam, Satyadev and Tamannaah Bhatia are busy promoting their upcoming film. During an interview, he talked about working with Satyadev and shared that he is happy to work with the actor. After watching his natural performance in Uma Maheshwara Ugrarusya, she wanted to share screen space with him and working with him on this project was a dream come true for Tamannaah.

The actress also expressed her happiness over the comparison of Gurthunda Seethakalam with Geethanjali as people are comparing it to a classic film. He said that the expectations have increased now and he is confident that he will reach the mark.

Apart from Gurthunda Seethakalam, Tamannaah has Bhola Shankar, Bole Chudiyan, Bandra and the web series Ji Karda with Keerthy Suresh and Chiranjeevi.
