Gurdas Maan: Sidhu Moose Wala’s parents asked him not to write songs on gun culture, but…

The music industry suffered a lot with the demise of singer KK and Punjabi musician turned politician Sidhu Moose Wala. The latter was shot dead on Sunday, May 29, in Punjab’s Mansa, a day after the Punjab government cut his security cover. Sidhu’s songs featured guns and violence and the singer was also booked for promoting gun culture in 2020. Now singer Gurdas Maan says that Sidhu’s parents used to ask him not to write songs on violence.

talking India Today he said, “When you become a role model for the youth, they start doing the same thing. This is what his parents used to explain to him. His father told me that he used to ask him to write songs on other subjects. But Sidhu Moose Wala said that when he tried to write a song on his mother, no one listened. Whenever someone said something about him, he would write a song to take revenge. It was liked by his fans. His mind worked the same way.”

Mann also recalled an incident when he spoke to his parents. He further told the publication, “One of his songs was just released. He sang very well. I called him and he was overjoyed. He turned on the speaker and asked his parents to talk to me. From then on, whenever I called, he would do the same. His parents used to say ‘Wow, Gurdas Maan loves you very much’. I said that not only me, the whole world loves him.”

He also talked about the threats that Moose Wala receives and said that when one reaches the heights of success, threats surround them.

Meanwhile, in a major breakthrough in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case, the Punjab Police on Tuesday arrested an accused from Dehradun. The accused, identified as Manpreet Singh, a native of Punjab’s Dhaipei village, was arrested along with five others from the Uttarakhand capital.
