The new ministers of the Bhupendra Patel-led government in Gujarat will take oath on Thursday at the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

The ceremony was postponed on Wednesday after objections were raised to the move, “sitting ministers who were to be removed to look after the anti-incumbency wave”.

Sources say that Patel is inducting 27 ministers in his cabinet. Obviously, the discussion of removing many old faces to give space to new faces to beat the anti-incumbency wave created a lot of resentment among the old people.

Earlier, the swearing-in ceremony was to be held on Wednesday. According to reports, the date of the ceremony was also mentioned as September 15 in the posters of Raj Bhavan. However, they were removed on Wednesday afternoon.

BJP’s Gujarat in-charge Bhupendra Yadav is holding marathon meetings in Gandhinagar to finalize names in the new cabinet, which is being reshuffled in the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
