Kevadiya: Next Defense Expo will be hosted by Gujarat in 2022. It was announced by the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani After signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect with the Ministry of Defense in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh by the Gujarat government in Kevadiya on Thursday.
Rupani said the 4-day expo will be held in Gandhinagar from March 10 to 13 next year. While the seminars will take place at Mahatma Mandir, the helipad exhibition center will serve as the exhibition space for the expo.
“We have good infrastructure for defense equipment production in the state. Dholera SIR can become a hub for defense equipment production units. Apart from a large runway and airport, it also has ample land for weapons testing and testing ranges,” Rupani said.
Singh said there are also plans to host a conference of defense ministers in the state.
Singh and Rupani had come to Kevadiya to attend the Gujarat BJP state executive meeting, which was presided over by state unit chief CR Patil. All the party MLAs, MPs, executive committee members, party state office-bearers and district and city unit presidents attended the meeting along with prominent leaders.
This is the first time that Gujarat BJP has organized a ‘paperless state executive’ meeting, in which the invitees have been given tablets with all necessary information and links related to the event.
