Lakhs of party people will gather for the Vijay Roadshow, which will be led by the Prime Minister, from the airport ‘Shri Kamalam’, the BJP headquarters in Koba, Gandhinagar. The roadshow to be held on Friday is being projected as a national celebration of the BJP’s stellar performance in the elections.
More importantly, the BJP is trying to ramp up its preparations for the Gujarat Assembly elections with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit. The prime minister’s massive roadshow and his presidency at a massive rally of around 2 lakh elected panchayat representatives is being projected by the BJP as a bugle for the Gujarat assembly elections.
Hectic discussions will take place at the state BJP headquarters on Friday afternoon as PM Modi devises the party’s strategy to retain power in Gujarat even after 24 years of uninterrupted tenure in the state.
The PM will hold a meeting with CM Bhupendra Patel and the cabinet of ministers, state BJP president CR Patil and other top office bearers to give the party another victory in the state.
On Thursday, a big ‘rangoli’ of the PM was being given the final touch. At other places, platforms were erected on the way from the airport to Kamalam. Crores of buses full of supporters from different parts of the state will reach Ahmedabad for the roadshow.
Security personnel – both central and state – rehearsed on the routes that PM Modi will do during his two-day visit.
Top BJP sources said the prime minister is likely to meet top RSS functionaries, including sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat. Incidentally, Bhagwat and other top RSS leaders will also be in Ahmedabad to attend the RSS’s Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha.
