Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modinon aging mom Hiraba cast your vote in Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections are being held on Sunday.
Hiraba reached the polling booth of a government school in Raisan, Ward No 10 of the city, where she cast her vote.
She lives with the younger brother of the Prime Minister in Raisan village. Pankaj Modi. His daughter-in-law and others accompanied him to the polling booth.
Voting is underway for the elections to the GMC and three municipalities of Okha. Bhanwari and Thara.
For GMC’s 44 seats, a total of 161 candidates are in the fray, including 44 each from BJP and Congress and 40 from AAP.
Voting is also being held for by-elections to vacant seats in some municipal corporations, municipalities, as well as district and taluka panchayats.
Voting began at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm.
