Chudasama said that after scanning the CCTV footage and collecting information from the local people, the police traced Thakor, a daily wage laborer from Vansjada village in Kalol taluka.
“He has confessed to raping a five-year-old girl and a three-year-old girl,” the IGP said.
They said Thakor killed the three-year-old girl because she was screaming a lot and then raped her and threw her body in the culvert. He said that the police have recovered the body.
Chudasama said that the accused had lured the five-year-old victim by luring her to buy new clothes. In the second case, Thakor barged into the hut of a three-year-old girl while everyone was sleeping at night and took her away, he said.
“During interrogation, Thakor had confessed to raping a 7-year-old girl in the same area about ten days ago. He had first snatched the girl’s mobile phone and forced her to follow him. Then he Kidnapped her and raped her. A detailed investigation is underway into Thakor’s criminal past,” Chudasama said.
