Gujarat has recovered 10 lakh covids. Ahmedabad News – Times of India

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat on Friday completed the recovery of 10 lakh COVID patients, taking the overall recovery rate to 88.3%. Of the remaining 1% are dead patients and 10.7% are active patients.
Out of the total, Ahmedabad district accounts for 3.1 lakh or 30% of the total Covid recoveries so far. Experts say that the estimated population of Gujarat is 65 million, which is 1.5 percent of the total population.

In Gujarat, 101 people have died in the last four days. Of this, 33 or a third of the deaths were from Ahmedabad city alone. With 19,000 cases in the last four days, it put the death rate at 0.2%. Ahmedabad recorded a decline in daily cases for the third consecutive day. From 5,303 cases on January 25, it went up to 5,248 on Wednesday, 4,405 on Thursday and 4,046 on Friday. However the city still accounts for a third of Gujarat’s daily cases. The state recorded 12,131 cases on Friday. According to the Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (AHNA), cases in hospitals have also come down. There were 116 patients in isolation wards, 99 in high-dependency units, 35 in ICU and 24 patients on ventilatory beds. Officials said the cases in the civil hospital are around 110. About 50% of these require some form of oxygen.
Active cases in Ahmedabad district came down from its peak of 52,000 on January 23 to around 38,000. The total active cases in Gujarat stood at 1.07 lakh, down from the peak of 1.35 lakh on January 24.
