The Gujarat government on Monday decided to reduce Value Added Tax (VAT) by five per cent on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) used in aviation services to promote tourism, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.

This deduction will be effective from midnight today (Monday).

“Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has decided to reduce the rate of Value Added Tax on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) used in aviation services to five per cent. This people-oriented decision will boost tourism activities in the state,” the CMO said. . said in a statement.

The reduction in VAT on ATF is likely to bring down airfares for airlines, thereby encouraging tourists to visit Gujarat in greater numbers.
