Gujarat: Case registered against travel agent for selling 12 tickets of Statue of Unity at exorbitant prices. Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: A Surat-based travel agent was booked by the Narmada police on Friday for selling Statue of Unity (SOU) entry tickets at higher prices. An employee of the SOU came to know about the fraud when he was checking the tickets near the viewing gallery in the SOU.
According to SOU officials, the employee noticed that the amount on 12 tickets was more than the actual charges. While the entry ticket for adults is sold for Rs 380, the agent charged seven adults Rs 410 per ticket. And, instead of Rs 230, Rs 260 per child was charged. When the tourists were questioned, they said that they had bought the ticket from an agent in Surat.
SOU officials said tourists should book entry tickets directly from the official mobile app or website. On July 16, SoU officials had busted a similar racket and caught 23 tickets that were sold at an exorbitant price. The agent selling those tickets had tampered with the actual price.
