Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah ‘ will be the chief guest ofNational unity Day celebrations will be held in Statue of Unity in Kevadiya GujaratOn the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel of Narmada district.

An official of the Statue of Unity Authority said Shah will begin the day by paying floral tributes to the statue and then preside over a parade in which paramilitary and Gujarat Police personnel will take part.
According to a PIB release, 75 cyclists from ITBP, SSB, CISF, CRPF and BSF, who have traveled about 9,000 km from different parts of the country, and 101 motorcyclists from Tripura’s police forces. Tamil NaduJammu and Kashmir and Gujarat, who have traveled to Kevadiya covering a distance of about 9,200 km, will also take part in the parade.
“Twenty-three medal winners in Olympic, Asian and Commonwealth Games, including our bronze-winning men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh in the recent Tokyo Olympics, will participate. There will be a joint band of ITBP and Gujarat Police.” The release said.
An SOU official said, “There will also be a cultural program in which teams from Odisha and Gujarat will perform with Wushu, a form of martial art. The ITBP team will showcase their skills in dismantling and reassembling a vehicle. ”
