Ahmedabad: Gujarat 10,019 new COVID-19 positive cases were added in the 24 hours ending 5 PM on Friday. The number is down 10.4% compared to 11,176 on Thursday. This was the state’s second consecutive day of over 10,000 daily cases.
With the update, the cumulative cases of Covid-19 in Gujarat crossed 9 lakh. Gujarat ranks 11th among Indian states in terms of cumulative cases. Gujarat ranks ninth in terms of active cases with 55,798.

The new cases include 3,090 from Ahmedabad city, 2,986 from Surat city, 1,274 from Vadodara city, 296 from the city. Rajkot City and 273 from Surat district among others. The daily discharge ratio was 48% on Friday at 4,831.

The state’s overall recovery rate is 92.7%, while out of the active cases, 54 patients were on ventilators, which is mentioned in the state health department’s bulletin.
