Gudi Padwa is the new year for Marathi and Konkani Hindus which will be celebrated on 2nd April this year. Gudi Padwa is celebrated on the first day of Chaitra month. According to the Hindu lunar calendar, the festival marks the beginning of spring and the new year. This festival is celebrated in and around Maharashtra and Goa.
