Lakshmi in the sixth house. Grant of ‘Lakshmi Bhandar’ project reached the bank accounts of 60 lakh women of the state. Before the poojo, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was particularly keen to bring money into the account. As soon as the bank opened on Monday morning, money reached the bank accounts of consumers from the city to the villages.
According to the state government, Rs 2,46,60,000 has reached the consumers in this phase. So far, money has reached 60 lakh accounts out of a total of 1.5 crore consumers. The government has allocated another Rs 750 crore for distribution. After the worship, there will be a distribution of money in the by-elections to be held in the four assembly constituencies.
The Trinamool government has launched the Laxmi Bhandar project to provide monthly financial assistance to women in the state. About 1.8 crore applications were received for this project in August and September. Out of this, the government accepted 1.5 crore applications. Under this scheme, women get a grant of Rs 1,000 per month and others Rs 500 per month under protection.
Consumers of Koch Behar, Nadia, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas will not get Lakshmi Bhandar grant in October as by-elections have been declared in Dinhata, Shantipur, Kharda and Gosaba. If they vote in November, they will get 2 months allowance at a time.
