Govt Mishandled Foreign Policy, It Has Brought China, Pak Together, Says Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday alleged that China and Pakistan have come together and said that it is a very dangerous thing which has happened because the foreign policy was handled wrongly by the government.

He told the press conference that the government should accept its mistake and take corrective steps.

It should tell the country what has happened on the border with China and only then the opposition can support and help the government, Gandhi replied to a question on the government not allowing discussion in Parliament on the border dispute with China. Said.

The former Congress chief said India’s foreign policy during previous governments was aimed at successfully isolating China and Pakistan. “This was our central concept even during UPA-2 (United Progressive Alliance),” he said.

“Today Pakistan and China are together and this is not a simple thing. This is a very serious thing and it is very dangerous. It happened because our government handled the foreign policy in a wrong way because it is in the broad structure of our foreign policy. hasn’t understood.” the Congress leader said.

“Now that China and Pakistan are together, there is a risk and they will do something together. The first step was Doklam and the second step was in Ladakh, and I think it is preparation. If it is not, well and good , But I think they are preparing. I am telling the government that it is not if, it is when. We have to prepare,” he said. He said the government has to listen to and respect the Army, Air Force and Navy.

Gandhi said, “It means that whatever you are using politically, you have to stop doing that.”

“There is no need to hide what is happening on the border because China, which has grabbed 2,000 square kilometers of our land, is getting the message that India is not worried because the Prime Minister has said that no one has ever crossed our borders,” he said. has not entered the ground. We have to clearly tell China that it has entered our land and it has to go.

“The government is in confusion on this and I want this confusion to end. When I talk about this, the government says you are discussing the armed forces. But, I am not talking about the army. I am talking about the government.” There is a difference between them,” Gandhi said.

The Congress leader said the government has taken a “wrong decision” and should not “hide” behind the Army, Navy and Air Force.

“The government should accept that what it has done is wrong and it should take corrective steps. We will help them and the entire opposition will help the government, but it should first tell what has happened,” he said.

Gandhi said that he came from a family of “martyrs” as his father Rajiv Gandhi and grandmother Indira Gandhi were “martyred”, and he could feel the pain of a martyr’s family.

“When a youth is inspired to give up his life and when he becomes a martyr, I can understand what his family feels,” he said.

“I know, I can feel and understand, but no one in the top leadership of BJP understands this feeling. No one in his family got martyred, but I understand this feeling clearly. I want none of our soldiers to be martyred. It has been done.” My position from the beginning,” Gandhi said.

The Congress leader said he did not want “we to take this issue lightly that we use the loss of our soldiers and their families for political gains”. “It is sacred to me,” he said.

Gandhi said he understands the difficulties soldiers face on the borders, be it in Siachen or in the Himalayas. He said, “I love every soldier and I don’t want anyone to get hurt. When the national leadership doesn’t act strategically in international relations, there is an immediate geopolitical backlash.”

Gandhi alleged that as far as China is concerned, the government has completely mishandled the China issue.
