New Delhi: The government on Thursday extended the visas of all till September 30. foreign nationals An official spokesperson said here that people are stranded in India due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The spokesman said that the decision was taken as many foreigners who came to India on different types of visas before March 2020 were stuck in the country due to the pandemic due to lack of flights to their destinations.
“The Central Government had facilitated such foreign nationals by extending their regular period of stay in India” Visa or e-visa or stay bet period On a free basis without any overstay penalty.
“This facility which is currently available up to 31st August, 2021, has now been extended by the Central Government till 30th September, 2021. Such foreign nationals are not required to submit any application to the concerned FRRO/FRO for extension of their visa till September Will not be required. 30, 2021,” the spokesperson said.
Before leaving the country, they can apply for exit permission online at the e-FRRO portal, which will be provided by the authorities on a free basis without any overstay penalty.
The spokesperson said that if anyone wants visa extension beyond September 30, they can apply online on the e-FRRO platform on payment basis, which will be considered by the authorities, subject to eligibility as per extant guidelines.
The spokesman clarified that Afghan nationals already in India on any category of visas would be granted extension of visas as per the guidelines issued separately for Afghan nationals.
