Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik said, “The government gives (guarantees) the legal framework on MSP.”

Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik on Sunday said the Center will have to work sincerely to withdraw cases registered against farmers for protesting against agricultural laws and to give a legal framework to MSPs for crops.

He told reporters on the sidelines of an event organized in Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri that the farmers’ movement has been postponed for now, and if any injustice happens, it will resume, where he was honored by the Phogat Khap.

Responding to a question, he said, “Government has to work sincerely to withdraw cases against farmers and give legal framework (guarantees) on MSP.” It is the responsibility of the government.”

“But if the government thinks the movement is over, it is not,” he said. It has just been suspended. If injustice has happened or if any atrocities have happened with the farmers then the movement will start again. ,” They said.

Mr Malik said that after repeal of agricultural laws like legal framework for MSP, farmers should take a decision in their favour.

On his remarks that he was not afraid of being asked to step down, Mr. Malik said, “I am always with the farmers.” Appointed governors – in Jammu and Kashmir and Goa, before being posted to Meghalaya – during Narendra Modi’s tenure as prime minister, Mr Malik has been taking a dig at the government.

On the loss of lives in the landslide at Dadam mining site in Bhiwani, Malik said, “I am saddened by the loss of lives and injuries to the people in this incident. Referring to several cases of violation of rules in mining operations, he said. “There should be an inquiry into the incident and if anyone is found guilty of violation, action should be taken.”
