Establishing a uniform uniform will bring equality to students, regardless of their background, in both urban and rural areas of Mizoram
For the first time in Mizoram, students of government schools have started wearing uniforms with the new academic session starting on Wednesday, a senior official of the school education department said.
Lalsangliana, director of the school education department, said the specifications have been notified for separate uniforms for primary, middle, high school and higher secondary schools.
State Education Minister Lalchandma Ralte had earlier said that the introduction of uniform was aimed at bringing equality between rich and poor students in both urban and rural areas.
The minister had said that students of government schools will no longer need to buy new uniforms when their parents are transferred to other places.
