The Indian government told Parliament on Thursday that the new Parliament building is scheduled to be completed by October 2022 – the 75th year of Indian independence – and that the development of Central Vista Avenue will be completed by November 2021.

The government said that as part of the process of obtaining EC, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies were conducted for all the projects of the Central Vista Master Plan, which are in various stages.

“This study covered the environmental impact of proposed buildings in the Executive Enclave (comprising the Prime Minister’s Office, the Cabinet Secretariat and the National Security Council Secretariat) and the ongoing construction of the new Parliament House (for which EC has already been obtained on June 17, 2020) In addition to the projects for which the EC was applied.
