Government is concerned about the environment: PM Modi to address webinar on the theme ‘Energy for Sustainable Growth’

The webinar on “Energy for Sustainable Growth” will be attended by officials from ministries and state governments, as well as industry representatives and other experts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a webinar on the topic “Energy for Sustainable Growth” from 10 am today. The webinar will have sessions on topics such as developing energy storage, environment friendly lifestyle (LIFE), coal gasification, promotion of biomass as an alternative energy source, agriculture and agro-forestry, renewable energy expansion and forest and climate change. Officials from different ministries and state governments, as well as industry representatives and other experts will participate.

Low-carbon emissions will get a boost
The Ministry of Power said in an official statement that the government’s initiatives in the same energy and resource sector will be discussed in the webinar, which was announced by the government in the budget 2022. In view of the ‘Panchamrut’ strategy, the Prime Minister had mentioned at COP 26, India’s energy transition to promote low-carbon emissions was mentioned in the Budget 2022.

Participants will provide information on what needs to be done to implement key initiatives from the energy and resources sector, including economic growth, budget 2022 announcements in the energy and resources sector. The statement also said that this webinar is a part of a series of webinars organized by the government in key areas to fully implement the announcements of the Union Budget 2022.

It aims at brainstorming with experts from the public and private sectors, academia and industry, and identifying strategies to move forward towards the implementation of various initiatives under various sectors.
