Government alert on Omicron: Center will send central teams to 10 states; There will be an emphasis on increasing contact tracing, testing and vaccination

The cases of Omicron are increasing in different parts of the country. The Union Health Ministry on Saturday said that multi-disciplinary teams will be deployed in 10 states. These are the states where cases of Omicron, Corona are increasing or the pace of vaccination is slow.

These teams will be deployed in Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Mizoram, Karnataka, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Punjab. These teams will be stationed in the states for three to five days and will work closely with the state health officials.

Contact tracing, surveillance, containment operations will be monitored
According to the ministry, these teams will especially monitor contact tracing, surveillance, containment operations and corona testing. Also involved in sending samples to the INSACOG network for genome sequencing. These teams will also ensure the availability of beds in hospitals, supply of ambulances, ventilators and medical oxygen. Apart from this, there will also be an emphasis on increasing the speed of Kovid-19 vaccination.

Will submit report to central and state governments every evening
The statement further said that state-level central teams will assess the situation. Will suggest better treatment and submit a report on the steps taken for public health activities to the central and state governments by 7 pm every evening.

Omicron has 416 cases in the country
At the same time, the third Omicron case of the state has been confirmed in Rae Bareli district of UP. Earlier on the evening of December 17, the elderly couple were found Omicron positive in Ghaziabad. In this way, a total of 416 cases of Omicron have been found in the country so far.
