New Delhi: As 2021 comes to an end, Google India on Wednesday announced the year in its search results, essentially reimagining the top search trends of 2021 in the country. According to the search engine giant, 2021 has been a year of resilience, determination and a strong comeback and this is what the Year in Search 2021 results show. Searches for ‘near me’ on Google were particularly stimulating this year, with Covid vaccines, COVID tests, COVID hospitals, as well as oxygen cylinders and CT scans topping the list.

Covid-19, black fungus and Tokyo Olympics top the news category

COVID-19 continued to gain the spotlight in the news category and interest in major global events and topics such as the Tokyo Olympics, black fungus, Afghanistan and West Bengal elections continued.

Radhe and Bell Bottom were the other Hindi films that rose on the trending charts. Much awaited Hollywood movies like Godzilla vs Kong and Eternal have made it to the list of top trending movies of the year.
