Google Will Soon Auto-Launch Apps That You Have Installed On The Phone: Here’s How – News18

Google is reportedly testing their new “App Auto Open” feature for the Play Store that will automatically start the app as soon as it is installed on the device. As per a report by Android Authority, the latest version of the Google Play Store 41.4.19 has shown in-progress codes that hint at this big feature being introduced shortly.

The report says, the new “App Auto Open” feature, when activated, sends users a notification in the form of a banner across the top of the screen. This notification lasts for only five seconds. Depending on the device settings, the notification will vibrate or ring, and users have the option to mute it.

This App Auto Open is an optional feature that the users can toggle On/Off as per their requirement. But by default, the feature will be turned on, as per Android Authority. As of now, this new feature is not live for public use and is in the testing phase. For users who forget to open the app after installing it, this feature might be helpful. It is still unclear when the tech giant will roll out this new feature.

Google has recently introduced its new feature “Ask someone else to pay” to its Play Store App which allows users to ask someone else to pay for an in-app purchase or an app the person wants to use. This payment feature appears as an “ask someone else to pay for this item” tab in the app store and is compatible with any apps that use the Google Play Store’s in-app payment mechanism.

Apart from this, the tech giant has also introduced another feature that allows users to download two apps simultaneously from the Play Store. This update eliminates the need to wait for apps to download one by one, significantly improving efficiency.

This feature was initially limited to new downloads and only supports two apps simultaneously. If a user tries to download more than two apps at once, the additional downloads will be queued until one of the initial two apps is installed.
