Google will now let you plan your video meetings better with new RSVP features – Times of India

Google now increasing RSVP options in Google Calendar Invites to virtual meetings. With the new feature Google Workspace users will be able to indicate whether they plan to join the meeting in the meeting room or virtually.
“Both the organizers and guests will be able to see how the attendees are planning to attend the meeting in the details of the program. This will help meeting attendees know what to expect when they attend the meeting, and prepare accordingly,” Google said in a blog post.
The new RSVP feature will initially be available on Google Calendar, and will soon be available for calendar invites in Gmail. “If you select the new RSVP options, the details of the joining method (such as “Virtual Join”) are not shared with contacts on other platforms, such as Microsoft Outlook,” Google added.
Meanwhile, the participants of google meet Video calls can now notice users who have raised their hands easily with a new icon. Also, if you raise your hand to speak during a Meet video call, Google will automatically detect when you’ve finished speaking and then automatically lower your hand in that call. So, if you forget to turn off the raise your hand option, Google will automatically do so for you so that other participants can continue with the meeting. This update will be available for enterprise users and other GSuite customers. Free Google account holders may not have this feature yet.
Also, Google has recently introduced a major change in the interface of Google Meet video calls. The new UI aims to make settings and features more accessible. There is a new bottom bar that will always be visible during any call. This will let you easily access all the options without having to search inside the settings.
