9to5google reports that this minor change to Google Search on desktop brings a more modern UI. The search bar has also parted ways with its rounded appearance in lieu of a handy field dividing search results with a horizontal line. The shortcuts for voice search and clearing the search field are still there like it is with the current UI.
Animations used in Google search
The report said that one of the animations involved changing the Google logo from a fully typed form to a multi-colored G icon as the search bar was clicked and recently expanding the query below it. happened. The expanded drop-down also implemented more search queries that were indirectly related under the “People also ask section”, along with some suggestions powered by knowledge graphs.
The report also states that the new UI only appeared in Google Search, while the test browsing was done in Incognito mode. There were other reports of this UI appearing as early as December 10th, although it was only showing for users who signed in.
This new design is under testing and there is no confirmation on when and whether it will be released widely. Recently, Google also added a new design to its search for “Top Stories” feature.
