Good Samaritans Hold Lakeview Rideshare Robbery Suspect Until Chicago Police Arrive

CHICAGO (WLS) – Chicago police arrested The Good Samaritans and held a suspect after they robbed a rideshare driver in Lakeview early Friday morning.

The 38-year-old woman was stopped at a light in the 3400-block of North Clark Street at around 12:50 a.m. when police said an unidentified man came and demanded to be taken home.

Police said the man got into the car, hit her arm, took her cellphone off the dashboard and broke the windshield wiper before jumping onto the hood of the car.

Police said the same man damaged the door of another rideshare vehicle in the 3300-block of North Clark Street.

Police said the Good Samaritan then jumped up and grabbed the suspect and held him until officers arrived.

Police said the suspect is in custody and charges are pending. No one got injured.
