Gold rose by Rs 555; Silver rises by Rs 975

According to HDFC Securities, gold prices rose by Rs 555 to Rs 45,472 per 10 grams in the national capital on Friday amid a fall in the rupee. In the previous trade, this precious metal had closed at Rs 44,917 per 10 grams. Silver also rose by Rs 975 to Rs 58,400 per kg from Rs 57,425 per kg in the previous trade.

The Indian rupee declined by 12 paise to end at 74.35 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday.

In the international market, gold was trading marginally lower at $ 1,752 an ounce and silver was flat at $ 22.16 an ounce.

According to Tapan Patel, Senior Analyst (Commodities), HDFC Securities, “Gold held steady at $1,752 an ounce in COMEX with a marginal decline in gold prices.”

He said that after strengthening in the previous trading session, gold prices have strengthened today.
