Gold fell by Rs 124; Silver falls by Rs 18

According to HDFC Securities, gold on Monday fell by Rs 124 to Rs 46,917 per 10 grams in the national capital amid a fall in the precious metal prices in international markets and a firming rupee. In the previous trade, gold had closed at Rs 47,041 per 10 grams. Silver prices fell marginally by Rs 18 to Rs 66,473 per kg from Rs 66,491 per kg in the previous trade.

According to Tapan Patel, Senior Analyst (Commodities), HDFC Securities, “Spot gold of 24 carat gold in Delhi declined by Rs 124 in COMEX on account of fall in gold prices and strengthening of rupee.”

The Indian rupee rose by 9 paise to touch 74.33 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday. In the international market, gold remained steady at USD 1,808 an ounce and silver at USD 25.47 an ounce.
