Goa: NSUI challenges dismissal of GU Scholar, meets Governor Goa News – Times of India

Panaji: National Students Union of India (NSUICongress’ student wing Goa on Wednesday met Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai and demanded the cancellation of his dismissal. research scholar Dikansh Parmar.
NUSI also demanded the appointment of a three-member impartial inquiry committee to probe his case.
NSUI President Naushad Choudhary said Parmar was ready to give necessary evidence to any committee or to place it before the members of the executive council of the university.
Parmar worked under Assistant Professor Nitin Sawant on the project ‘Diversity of Diversity of Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka’ since January 2020.
He was appointed on the basis of merit and had secured the highest marks in the interview, read the NUSI press statement.
Within a year of joining the project, Parmar has handed over five research manuscripts and a book titled ‘Snakes of Goa’ to Sawant. Yet, the statement read, he was ordered to be dismissed on the basis of false allegations and no show cause notice was issued to him.
NUSI alleged that Parmar’s dismissal was ordered after a close relative of the academic staff objected to the author of his research paper.
