Goa: Dharbandora to be known as Knowledge Hub, says CM Pramod Sawant Goa News – Times of India

Ponda: With the first multi-faculty college of the taluka already functional, the foundation stone was laid for a National Forensic Science University and a India International University of Legal Education And Research sure to come up, dharbandora Taluka will soon be known as State knowledge center In the near future, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
Sawant was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Gopal Gaonkar Memorial Goa Multi Faculty College building in Dharbandora on Thursday. The college started in June 2013 is presently running from a government school near the employees quarters of Sanjeevani Sugar Factory.
The Chief Minister said that Dharbandora taluka would not be just a mining belt, but would soon be known for its educational institutions. He further said that the state government is also considering a plan to develop it as a tourist destination.
Local MLA and PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar | appealed for support from the local people to bring it IIT Campus at Dharbandora.
He also said that the government would regularize the contract workers of the Sanjeevani sugar factory.
