In the first terminal examination, students will be assessed on the basis of multiple choice questions. The second term will consist of assessments based on subjective questions.
The board has stated that the first term as well as the second term exam marks will contribute to the final overall score of the student.
The board has sought objections and suggestions till August 10.
This policy also allows schools to be ‘creative’ with their internal assessments.
For class X and XII, internal assessment will be conducted throughout the year, as per the policy. The board has said that of the three periodic tests that schools will require as part of internal assessment, the third examination will be required to assess students ‘creatively’, apart from practical assignments and other activities. , the board has said.
“It will also include unit tests/exploratory activities/practical projects. Schools will create a student profile and maintain the evidence in digital format for all assessments done throughout the year. Guidelines for internal assessment for all subjects will also be issued with rational duration-wise divided syllabus for the session 2021-2022,” reads the policy.
The Board has said that additional resources like sample assessment, question banks, teacher training etc. will be made available for more reliable and valid internal assessment.
The Board has also stated that efforts will be made to make internal assessment, practical and project work “more credible and valid” and should be carried out by schools strictly as per the guidelines to be notified by the Board to ensure fair distribution . Mark.
The board has said that the policy was also framed due to several concerns over internet connectivity, availability of gadgets for the students etc.

The assessment can be done in offline or online mode depending on the pandemic situation.
