Panaji: Chief Minister Pramodi Sawant On Tuesday, the government-run corporations in the state were instructed to prepare Vision Documents so that they become self-sufficient (self-sufficient). He also instructed each of them to make a Inventory of Earth available with them. “We have asked them to take control of the unused assets across the state,” he said.
Sawant recently met top officials of all state corporations, and said that they should be self-reliant. They can also come up with ideas to generate revenue, he added.
“The state government will provide whatever boost the corporations need to become self-reliant,” he said. “The MDs and CEOs are working hard, and some have already prepared the vision documents.”
The CM said that every year the government transfers officers from one corporation to another, which has brought a change in the implementation of policies. With a vision document he stated that “when a new managing director comes into the corporation, he can go ahead and execute the vision”.
Asked whether the government would reduce the funding given to corporations, Sawant said it could be considered at a later stage. Sawant said the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) has also organized events to generate revenue.
He said that it is the responsibility of every government establishment to ensure that the department or corporation is contributing to the progress of the state.
