Global issues like Ukraine war, pandemic made the country self-reliant: PM Modi

new Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said global challenges like the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the COVID-19 pandemic have made it more important for India to become self-reliant, and urged people to promote Indian products.

PM Modi was speaking at a launch ceremony for six volumes of ‘Shri Dharmajeevan Gatha,’ a biographical book on the life of Swaminarayan Gurukul Vishwavidya Pratishthanam’s Gurudev Shastriji Maharaj (SGVP), news agency PTI reported.

The Prime Minister said that his slogan, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’, was inspired by Shastriji Maharaj’s call for ‘Sarvajan Hitai (Welfare of All)’ and the book written by his disciple Madhavpriyadasji Swami will serve. As an inspiration to the readers through his life and teachings.

“Given the state of the world today, everyone is facing new challenges. We experienced the coronavirus, and now the Ukraine-Russia war. In today’s world, it is difficult to predict when and what will happen, and it How will that affect us,” PM Modi was quoted by PTI in its report.

Modi emphasized the importance of ‘self-reliant India’ and encouraged all those associated with the SGVP to promote it, saying the world has become so small that no country can remain unaffected (by events).

He asked them to be “vocal for the local”, adding that doing so would create jobs and strengthen the country.

The Prime Minister urged the members of the SGVP to support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and promote natural farming to help Mother Nature.

“Shastriji Swami’s life was one of dedication, and he lives among his followers in his divine form. Books on his life, written by his disciple Madhavpriyadasji Swami, will help him remember his words and act according to his teachings. will inspire you to do so.” PM said.

The six volume, more than four thousand page ‘Shri Dharmajivan Gatha’ was inaugurated in a grand ceremony by 108 delegates.

It covers the life and activities of Gurudev Shashreeji Maharaj as the originator of the Gurukul-style education system, as well as the history of the Swaminarayan Gurukula Vishwavidya Pratishthanam (SGVP).

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, former state minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and Union minister Prashottam Rupala as well as former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court DN Patel were also present at the event.
