New Delhi: The Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team’s dream of a place in the ICC Men’s 2021 T20 World Cup final was shattered after a loss against the mighty Australians in the semi-finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 on Thursday.

Pakistan had to face defeat due to poor performance of their bowlers. Pakistan’s Haris Rauf proved to be one of the most expensive bowlers of his team as he conceded 32 runs in three overs without taking any wickets. Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell also could not do much in the batting and scored just seven runs in 10 balls.

After the Pakistan vs Australia semi-final match, a picture of Rauf and Maxwell went viral on social media, in which they can be seen exchanging their national team jerseys with each other. Maxwell and Rauf have played for Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL). The Pakistani speedster was part of the Melbourne Stars when Maxwell was the captain of that team.

Maxwell has also shared this picture on his Instagram. “I am so proud of how far this young man has come! What he has done for @starsbbl and Pakistan cricket is phenomenal! He is a good human being and a great partner, and a man I will always be a part of.” Will cherish as a friend Maxwell wrote in the caption of his post, ‘You are superstar Haris Rauf.’

Melbourne Stars also took to their official Twitter handle to post a picture of the two cricketers swapping their national team jerseys at the hotel.
