The people of Meghalaya and Nagaland are looking forward to progressive, welfare governments.

Voting began at 7 am on Monday in 59 out of 60 assembly seats in Meghalaya and voters have sealed the electoral fate of 369 candidates.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday urged the people of Meghalaya and Nagaland to give a chance for change as polling is underway in the two northeastern states.

“The people of Meghalaya and Nagaland are looking forward to progressive, welfare-oriented governments,” Kharge said in a tweet.

“Welcome to our first-time voters to participate in this democratic process for a better future. I urge our sisters and brothers of Meghalaya and Nagaland to give us a chance for change.

Voting began at 7 am on Monday in 59 out of 60 assembly constituencies in Meghalaya and voters sealed the electoral fate of 369 candidates.

Voting also began at 7 am for the Nagaland Assembly elections, in which voters are set to decide the electoral fate of 183 candidates.
