A German court has convicted a 67-year-old electrician of serious, dangerous and simple assault for removing the testicles of several men at his request, leading to the death of one man, DPA news agency reported on Tuesday.

A regional court in Munich sentenced the man to eight years and six months in prison. The defendant, whose name was not released for privacy reasons, was initially charged with murder by default, but prosecutors later dropped that charge.

The DPA reported that the defendants admitted to offering “castrations” on sado-masochistic websites during the trial, saying that several men paid them money to torture and remove their testicles.

According to the DPA, during the trial, the man told the court that he was performing the operation at his kitchen table in the town of Markt Schwaben, telling his victims that he was a trained medical professional.

The defendant told the court that he amputated or partially amputated the genitals of eight men between July 2018 and March 2020. But he denied responsibility for the death of a man, who died several days after the defendant had carried out a procedure on him.

Three weeks later, the police found the dead man’s body in a compartment.

Prosecutors had sought eleven years in prison for grievous and dangerous bodily injury. The defendant’s lawyers had sought the court to sentence him to more than seven years’ imprisonment.
