Geeta Basra: I gave birth to my son after two miscarriages, saved myself from breaking up

Star couple Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra recently welcomed their son Jovan. The actress, who is jubilant after becoming a proud mother for the second time to a child, revealed that she had two miscarriages in the past two years – one in 2019 and the other, last year. The actress is happy that she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Geeta shared the first picture of her newborn baby on her Instagram account.

Now, while talking about the complications of her pregnancy, Geeta urges women who have faced miscarriage not to lose hope. “The last two years have undoubtedly been painful for me, but I stopped myself from breaking out. After a miscarriage a woman’s hormones go up and down a lot, which, in turn, makes it extremely difficult for her to maintain her sobriety. I kept myself strong and didn’t let that meltdown happen,” she told the ETimes.

The first miscarriage happened in 2019 and the second in 2020, when Geeta was in her first trimester. Harbhajan was with him both times. “No matter how early it is, if it’s your first trimester, mom feels more at a loss than anyone else attached to her”.

After a second miscarriage, Geeta and Harbhajan started living with their parents for some time. The actress was at her in-laws’ house when she got pregnant and took every precaution there. “I decided to rest it completely in the first trimester. I just took my vitamins and waited for the first three months to be over. After that, we came to Mumbai, and after a while, I started doing yoga. It helped me. A lot. Longer assignments were given in the last quarter. My gut instinct told me it would be all right this time. Touchwood, did it,” Geeta said.

For unmatched people, Harbhajan and Geeta tied the knot in 2015. Their daughter Hinaya Heer Plaha was born in 2016.
