Garmin Vivosmart 5 with OLED display and 7 days battery life launched in India: Price, specifications

Garmin is a premium fitness brand in the market and this week it introduced the new Vivosmart 5 fitness band in the segment. This new product has an OLED display that is bigger than its predecessor and you also have a physical button to control navigation if needed. It comes with health-focused features that include a fitness tracker, and you have a week of support on a single charge.

The Garmin Vivosmart 5 price in India is Rs 14,990 and is now available through various online stores in the country.

Garmin emphasizes the design and build quality of its products, and the Vivosmart 5 is no different. The strap gets a soft-touch finish so that you can wear the band for a long time without any hassle. The company is offering the band in small, medium and large sizes, which are useful for people with different hand sizes. Garmin says the Vivosmart 5 gives you 66 percent more screen estate than the previous version.

In terms of fitness, the Vivosmart 5 features sensors like SpO2 monitoring, 24×7 heart rate tracker, body battery energy monitor and all-day stress tracking. You also get basic features like a step counter, which gives you details of the distance covered, or calories burned, during the day.

In addition, you have various sports modes such as walking, cycling, swimming, yoga and more. The sleep tracker is claimed to be quite informative and gives you a daily report with sleep score and more details.

The display means you can pair it with your smartphone and receive calls, messages and other notifications right on the wrist. Oddly, for a device at this price, Garmin isn’t offering a built-in GPS, so you need to rely on a smartphone to accurately track distance. And lastly, all of these features mean you can expect a week’s worth of battery life, after which it needs to be charged.
