Ganja smuggling from Rajdhani Express, RPF busted the gang, 2 arrested Rail Hunt

Howrah. Howrah RPF foils an attempt to smuggle ganja through Rajdhani Express. Two members of the inter-state smuggling gang have also been arrested in this case. 43 kg of ganja has been seized from the accused. According to the information, on the information of the informer, the team led by RPF Sub Inspector Kaushal Kumar posted at Howrah North Post started keeping an eye on Platform 9 located at Old Complex along with SI RK Ranjan of CPDS.

Meanwhile, two youths started boarding the 02301up Rajdhani Express leaving for New Delhi. On the basis of suspicion, the RPF stopped both of them and started interrogation. It was revealed that both the youths are members of interstate drug gang. RPF recovered 43 kg of ganja packed in packets from them. The RPF confiscated the ganja by taking both the accused into custody. During interrogation, it was found that both the smugglers had reached Howrah station with ganja by local train.

Ganja was to be transported to New Delhi by Rajdhani Express. The smugglers named their names as Mohammad Islam (41) son Mohammad Kamruddin resident 1/1 Radha Raman Lal Road Risda and Tariq Anwar (33) son Anwar Hussain resident 17 Gandhi road Risra district Hooghly under Shrirampur police station. It was found that a youth named Naushad sitting in Delhi was giving directions to the smugglers. The value of the seized ganja has been estimated to be around Rs 4 lakh 30 thousand. The RPF has handed over the seized ganja and the accused to the Narcotics Control Bureau for further action.
