The world’s longest luxury river cruise MV Ganga Vilas, which was flagged off on Friday for its maiden voyage of 3,200 km, was reportedly stuck in Chapra in Bihar for the third day. According to officials, the giant ship got stuck due to the shallow water in the Ganges. However, a few hours after the news broke, the The Inland Waterways Authority of India denied the reports and said that the cruise reached Patna on its scheduled time.

Earlier today, citing officials, ANI reported that the tourists were scheduled to dock at the coast to go to Chirand but got stuck due to lack of water in Ganga near Doriganj area of ​​the district.

MV Ganga Vilas is the first cruise ship built in India. The luxury cruise has three decks, 18 suites with a capacity of 36 tourists and all luxury facilities. Mathur said local food and seasonal vegetables would be served to the tourists. Raj Singh, founder and CEO of Antara Luxury River Cruises, said there will be no non-vegetarian food or alcohol on board.

The ship has a crew of 39 and is captained by Mahadev Naik who has over 35 years of experience. Speaking to PTI, Keniger Krieger, a Swiss national who is on board for the maiden voyage, said, “Traveling on the Ganges is a very special experience, it is a once in a lifetime experience, don’t miss it.” should be done.”
