Gandhis not accepting criticism ‘unfortunate’, says Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee chief K Sudhakaran | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president K Sudhakaran has termed it “unfortunate” that the Gandhi family was not ready to listen and accept the criticisms made by G-23 leaders.
“They should have tried to accommodate criticisms made by senior leaders in the party. They have only tried to have a rectification in the party. The party leadership should have maintained a cordial relationship with G-23 leaders,” said Sudhakaran.
Interestingly, Sudhakaran made this comment on the day when AICC leader Rahul Gandhi was launching the Bharata Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari.
Sudhakaran was speaking to the media on the way to the state capital to receive Rahul at the airport.
He went on to add that “he had made this request to the Gandhi family, but it was of no use”. The problems faced by the party are that we are not ready to accept the criticisms and the leaders who are criticizing the party, he added.
Kerala leaders should vote accoding to their conscience
On the possibility of Shashi Tharoor contesting for the AICC president’s post, KPCC president K Sudhakaran said, “If Tharoor is contesting the election, then let Kerala leaders vote according to their conscience. It has become almost certain that there will be an election for the post of the AICC president. It is learnt that the Gandhi family is preferring to field Ashok Gehlot for the president’s post.”
KPCC will not campaign for any candidate in the race for the new president. It is always healthy for a party to have an election for the president’s post, he added.
